1. Introduction
Make My Day ("the app", "we", "us") is an iOS productivity app developed by Akash mangukiya. We take your privacy seriously and have built the app from day one to keep your personal data on your device, under your control.
This policy describes what data the app handles, how it's stored, and your rights as a user.
2. What we collect (and what we don't)
Personal data we DO NOT collect
- Your tasks, reminders, notes, habits, transactions, or any content you create in the app.
- Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
- Your contacts, photos, calendar, or any other on-device data — even when you grant the app permission to access them.
- Your precise location (our advertising provider may infer a coarse, city-level location to serve ads in the free version — see section 7).
- Your IP address (beyond what is required for App Store delivery, handled by Apple, and ad serving in the free version — see section 7).
Anonymous data we collect
| Data | Purpose | Source |
|---|---|---|
App usage events (e.g. screen_view, task_completed, paywall_viewed) |
Understand which features are used and where users get stuck so we can improve them | Firebase Analytics |
| Crash reports (stack trace, iOS version, device model — no personal data) | Find and fix bugs that affect real users | Firebase Crashlytics (if enabled) |
| Subscription status (Pro / free) | Unlock the right features in the app and report aggregate conversion to ourselves | Apple StoreKit (handled by Apple) |
None of this data is linked to a personal identifier. Firebase generates an anonymous installation ID that we cannot tie back to any individual.
Free version & advertising. The free version of the app shows ads through Google AdMob. With your permission (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt) AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show and measure ads. This is covered in detail in section 7. Make My Day Pro removes all ads.
3. How your data is stored
All of the content you create in Make My Day — tasks, reminders, habits, transactions, notes, settings — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to:
- Enable iCloud Sync (Pro feature) — your data is encrypted by Apple and synced to your private iCloud. We never have access to it.
- Export your data as CSV or PDF — the file is saved to your device or shared via the iOS share sheet.
- Attach a receipt photo to a transaction — the image is stored in your app's private container on the device.
4. Analytics & crash reporting
We use Google's Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to detect crashes. These services collect anonymous, aggregated data only:
- Which screens are viewed and for how long.
- Which features are tapped and when.
- Which subscription plans drive the most conversions (so we can refine pricing).
- The iOS version, device model, app version, and country (derived from device locale, not GPS).
Firebase's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
You can disable analytics from inside the app: Settings → Privacy → Analytics. Disabling it will not affect any feature.
5. Purchases & subscriptions
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Apple via the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple sends us only the subscription status (active / cancelled / expired) and the product ID (e.g. com.makemyday.pro.yearly).
For details on how Apple handles your purchase data, see Apple's App Store privacy disclosure.
6. Device permissions
The app requests these permissions only when you use the relevant feature. Denying any permission disables only that one feature — every other part of the app keeps working.
| Permission | What it powers | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | Task and reminder alerts, habit nudges, special-day reminders | Optional, recommended |
| Camera | Capture a receipt photo while adding a transaction | Optional |
| Photo Library | Pick an existing receipt photo from your library | Optional |
| Contacts | Pick a customer from your contacts when creating an invoice or ledger entry | Optional |
| Calendar | Read birthdays into the Special Days tool | Optional |
| Face ID / Touch ID | Unlock the App Lock feature (Pro) | Optional |
7. Sharing, third parties & advertising
We do not sell your personal data. Apart from the analytics and crash-reporting providers listed in section 4, the only third party we share data with is our advertising provider.
Advertising (free version). The free version of Make My Day is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. To deliver and measure those ads, AdMob may collect and process your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), a coarse (city-level) location inferred from your IP address, and ad-interaction data. We share no other information with AdMob.
Your choice. On first launch the app asks, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether ads may use your advertising identifier. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Remove ads. Purchasing any Make My Day Pro plan removes all ads — the ad SDK is not even initialized for Pro users.
For details on AdMob's data practices, see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
8. Children's privacy
Make My Day is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and has had data collected, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Your rights
Because we don't store your personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on your behalf — your data is on your device, in your control. You can:
- Delete all your data at once: in-app, Settings → Erase All Data.
- Export your data: Settings → Cloud Sync & Backup → Export (CSV / PDF / JSON).
- Disable analytics: Settings → Privacy → Analytics.
- Cancel your subscription: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Make My Day.
- Uninstall the app: deleting the app removes every byte of your data from your device (analytics events already in transit may take up to 24 hours to clear from Firebase).
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced via an in-app notification before they take effect.
